True Friends

A true friend warms you with her presence, trusts you with her secrets and remembers you in her prayers. #MondayMotivation

A true friend warms with you with her presence, trusts you with her secrets and remembers you in her prayers.

In my 30 something years of life, I’ve had many a friends come and go.  It’s never been any worry to me as I’ve always made friends easily.

The childhood & activity friends were ones of proximity.  Your common location kind of forced those friendships upon you.  I’m not saying they’re weren’t good or that I didn’t have fun, but would they have happened otherwise?  Who knows?

Those relationships tried to withstand the test of time but faded as we went different paths.  They find you years later on Facebook and you reminisce. It’s ok.  It happens.

My 30’s have brought about a calming sense of reflection.  I’m more careful with who I let into my life, I hold onto those I care about more fiercely than I did in the past.

One friend of mine is living proof of the saying above.  We’ve been friends since college and I’m proud to call her a best friend.  Work and families keep us her pretty busy and time is limited.  But we can pick where we left off in conversation, we confide in each other and know that we’re there for each other when we need it.  Even it’s just a simple “I’m thinking of you” text.

Call/text your true friend(s) today.  Let them know they are in your prayers.  Your Monday will be a whole lot brighter.

  1. I love your Monday motivational posts =D congrats on a year! I think the older we get the pickier we are with who we spend time with because our time is so much more treasured as free time disappears. Real friends are a treasure to hold onto. If I take even a small amount of my week to spend time with someone, in person, over the phone or on-line then you can know I count you as my friend.

    1. Aw, thank you Stella =) I love writing them for you. I saw a TV show a few years ago that had three 30 something friends sitting around doing friend stuff. A 4th tried to join in and one of the women said, we’re in our 30’s we have all the friends we need already. And it’s so true. I have those key people that warrant my time. I’m friendly with all but I don’t necessarily want to spend time with them.
