Hello there =)
Remember that pretty, bright-eyed, twenty-something young lady that inspired me to get back to blogging? She inspired this post =)
What is your signature accessory?
In Find Your Staple Piece, Danielle shows us what her current staple accessories are right now, why she’s wearing them and why you should have one. Or two. A staple piece should convey your personality and uniqueness. When others see those items (or something similar) they think of you. You can read her posts them here and here.
In my teens and early 20’s I had a signature: Avon Simply Vanilla body spray. To this day, people from those years in my life tell me they smell vanilla and think of me. After reading her posts (and seeing her fab accessories), I set out to figure out what I should make my new signature accessory.
How’s that for a signature piece? Very pretty, yes. Good for every day wear? Not so much.
I fell into the scarf craze last fall… but not something you can pull off year round.
I’d pretty much given up. Closets full of scarfs, it’s too hot to wear them. A jewelry armoire FULL of sparkles but they’re just a bit too much for my everyday life. I’ll know it when I see it… And I didn’t have to wait too long.
Shopping at LUSH the other day (more on that store to come), I sought out the salesgirl I had the first time I frequented the store; the girl with the blue hair. Nikki, I believe. She helped me find a few things, got me a few samples and then looked at me a little puzzled.
Nikki: You were in here the other day weren’t you?
Me: Why, yes. Yes I was. Good memory!
Nikki: I remembered your penguin necklace. It’s super cute.
TA-DA! My signature piece. It was around my neck the whole time! A Christmas gift my boyfriend Tom bought me many years ago.. If I’m not wearing the penguin it’s the past present future necklace he got me.
Do you know what your signature accessory is? What you’d like it to be? Perhaps you’re already wearing it and didn’t even know it…
