Washi Tape Bookmarks

Washi Tape Bookmarks

If you check my search history right now you’d find I’m obsessing with two things: Midori Travelers Notebooks and Washi Tape.  OB-SESSED!  Today you get a peek at my washi tape issues ;)  I have a few washi tape crafts coming your way.  They’re quick and easy to do and mostly inspired by posts found on Pinterest.

Let’s get crafting!

Washi Tape Bookmarks - Supplies

For this one, all you need is a piece of copy paper about 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide, washi tape, magnets (magnetic tape in this case) and scissors.

Some variables to consider:

  • Paper width: The wider your paper strip is the longer the bookmark.
  • Washi Tape width: The wider your tape the wider your bookmark will be.
  • Magnet strength: The more pages you want to mark the stronger your magnets will have to be.

Washi Tape Bookmarks - Tape and Cut

Apply a piece of washi tape to the edge of the piece of paper allowing a little bit to hang over.  Fold those edges over.  Apply a second piece of decorative tape to cover the paper.  This piece needs to be fairly exact with no overlay off the paper.  Cut the taped paper from the rest of the strip.

Washi Tape Bookmarks - Fold and Magnets

Fold your washi tape strip in half with the raw edges on the inside.  Cut two pieces of magnets and apply to the inside of the folded strip.  Depending on the strength of the magnets adhesive, you may have to add extra glue.

Washi Tape Bookmarks - Mark a Page and Enjoy

TA-DA!  Washi tape bookmarks!  Mine are living in my Traveler’s Notebook for now.  Watch for that post soon =)

What are you creating?

** I found my inspiration original!  Thank you Christie of Lemon Squeezy Home for her Washi Tape Bookmarks and keeping me crafting!
