Hello there =)
In our busy, busy lives, engaging on social media regularly can be hard for both bloggers and non-bloggers alike. Fortunately, there are many sites and apps out there to help people schedule their shares across their social media platforms.
Today’s post does contain affiliate links to Viraltag’s services. If you follow the Viraltag links and then sign up for their scheduling tool, I will earn a small commission. I only promote products and services I would use (or do use) and trust. A part of their program provides me with images and stats to use should I choose to promote their service. Please read my full disclosure policy here.
Viraltag is a service & app that allows you to schedule posts directly to Instagram, sort of. Instagram itself doesn’t allow ANY 3rd party service to post on behalf of anyone. But… there will be no more forgetting when to post a photo when you know your friends and family are most likely to see it!
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Start Scheduling to Instagram with Viraltag
If you remember last week when we were getting started, Viraltag allows you to schedule to several social media platforms AND curate content right in the site.
Use Viraltag to:
- Find content by keyword and category.
- Search hashtags and keywords on Instagram to make sure you’re engaged with conversations that matter to your audience.
- Create original designs that will attract more attention on Instagram.
- Edit and optimize your photos to look their best on Instagram.
When you know when and how to engage, all you have to do is schedule.
To get started scheduling posts to Instagram, just follow these steps outlined below and in this tutorial video.
1. Connect your Instagram account to Viraltag.
Once you login to Viraltag (if you’re not a subscriber yet, click here for a free 14 day trial), click the “Connect” button under the Instagram icon on your Accounts tab.
2. Download the Viraltag Instagram mobile app.
Once you connect your Instagram account, a pop up will appear with a link to download the Viraltag Instagram mobile app to your smartphone.
Don’t let this image deter you… it IS available on Android devices now =) I was beyond delighted to find that out. You need this app to be able to “schedule” to Instagram, so make sure it’s downloaded before you start scheduling.
3. Schedule an image.
Just like you would for any other social network on Viraltag, select an image to schedule. You can upload an original photo, design something using the Canva integration, or pull something in from another source. Then click the Instagram icon at the top of your scheduler to schedule to Instagram.
Remember, Instagram doesn’t have links on photos, so no need to add a url in the “link box”, just add your caption to the description box along with any hashtags you would like to use.
4. Get notified that it’s time to post!
When it’s time for you to share your image on Instagram, Viraltag will tell you! Simply swipe to open the Viraltag Instagram app. The app will open to show your photo and the caption you added.
5. Click to share the photo on Instagram.
Once the app is open, click the “share on Instagram” button. When you click to share, your caption will automatically be copied to your clipboard as Instagram opens.
6. Make any changes to the photo.
From here on out, you’re in Instagram. This is the point in time where you can add filters or make changes to the photo if you wish.
7. Click to paste your caption.
Remember, Viraltag automatically copies your Instagram caption. You just need to paste it here. Double click the caption box and a Paste button will appear. Click to paste your caption.
8. Click to post.
When you are happy with your caption and have added any location or account tags you like, just click to post! Easy peasy!
If you haven’t yet signed up for Viraltag, give it a try for free. Viraltag No credit card required.
Perhaps you are already scheduling content on other networks with Viraltag (remember Viraltag also supports scheduling to Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and LinkedIn). But Instagram is a unique social network and will require a new strategy. You can find some great tips and inspiration in the Viraltag.
