Mini Clipboards by Sarah Celebrates

Hello there =)

I just had to be crafty last weekend so I went digging through my supplies to find something to satisfy my craft tooth.  I came across half a dozen 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 (ish) white chipboard pieces and a handful of binder clips. These would be a fun 30 minute craft.

I set out to make some mini clipboards.  They were a perfect size to slip in my go everywhere traveler’s notebook to keep my grocery list on.

Gather your supplies and tools. Links to similar items will be at the bottom of the post.

  • chipboard or sturdy paper/cardboard
  • cutting mat
  • ruler or straight edge
  • utility knife or rotary blade – I LOVE my EK Tools retractable blade!!!
  • double-sided tape
  • binder clip
  • decorations =)  I used scrapbook paper and some Project Life-like cards

I’m what you’d call a simple crafter/scrapbooker.  I like simple lines and minimal decorations.  You can add as much or as little to your boards.  I thought about experimenting with stamping and different inking techniques but then the 30 minute craft would have taken longer… ;)

Mini Clipboards by Sarah Celebrates - Cut paper to cover board

Lay your chipboard on the scrapbook paper and roughly cut off a piece.  This doesn’t need to be perfect right now, just enough paper to work with to cover the board.

Line the edges of the chipboard with double sided tape and a few lines across the middle (for good measure).  Place the glue covered side of chipboard on the back of the scrapbook paper.

Use your utility knife to cut the excess paper off from around the chipboard.

Mini Clipboards by Sarah Celebrates - lather rinse repeat

Lather, rinse and repeat the gluing process with your decorations for the front of the clipboard.

Add a binder clip.  You can glue this to the back of the chipboard to make it permanent.  I chose not to.  Mostly because I didn’t have the correct glue to do it…
