Hello there =)
A couple weeks ago, I introduced you to the #fireworkpeople Twitter chats. Have a you had a chance to check one out? Did you LOVE it? If you haven’t been able to check one out, make sure you say hi when you do =)
As I got more involved in the chats/community, I thought it’d be fun to interview the visionary behind the #fireworkpeople movement, Ashley Beaudin. Just a few questions to get a little background on how this community came to be.
This smiley, virtual huggin’ gal from Ottawa Canada is out to make the world a better place one woman at a time. Will you be one of them?
Sarah: Hello Ashley =) Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Just a few questions =)
How did #fireworkpeople come to be?
Ashley: For me, #fireworkpeople started out of a desire to build a community among those who want to change the world as it can be such a lonely and wild journey! Originally, I thought we would simply be a weekly Twitter party and that would be it. But from the get go, we really exploded and women responded and so it has just been this incredible adventure.
Sarah: How do you come up with the Twitter chat topics?
Ashley: Whatever my heart feels :)
Sarah: You describe this community that you fostered as “women who are owning their fire and changing the world”. How would you define someone’s “inner fire”?
Ashley: Someone’s “inner fire” is made up of their passions, their dreams and their story. It is the thing inside of people that they cannot shake; the thing that maybe keeps them up at night. Your inner fire is your power that happens when you are completely yourself. It is so entirely unique to each person and we need every single woman to find their inner fire and own it.
Sarah: Who/what sparked your inner fire?
Ashley: For me, I think my fire sparked when I really started to believe that I was enough. When we don’t believe that, it is hard to discover our fire at all, because we think that we are missing something or in lack. Community was one of the biggest catalysts to me walking in my unique fire. We need people. We need people to see in us what we can’t even see yet.
Sarah: If you could tell the women of the world just one thing, what would it be?
Ashley: If I could tell the world just one thing, it would be this: We need you to be everything that you are and bring everything you have because that will change the world.
Ashley and her chat has kept me motivated from week to week, even inspired a new series here on Sarah Celebrates #FWPinspired coming next week. Join me Tuesday for #fireworkpeople chat and next Thursday to kick off the #FWPinspired Journaling Challenge.
